Background of the Bangladesh Air Force

The journey of the Bangladesh Air Force started in 1920. At that time, politicians in India raised their voices to hire local Indians in the Royal Air Force. Some brave members of the Indian Royal Flying Corps gained fame in the First World W-a-r. Finally, the Indian Air Force was established in 1932. But the Royal Air Force made very little progress until 1939. The then government built some airports in some places of Bangladesh, such as Feni, Comilla, Cox’s Bazar, etc. There was only one hiring or recruiting office for this region in Narayangonj, Bangladesh. In 1971, the Air Wing for the Liberation W-a-r was established. Some Bengali officers and technicians joined this Air Wing, leaving their previous jobs. A brave hero named Mr. Matiur Rahman tried to flee with an aircraft named T-33 from Pakistan to join the Liberation W-a-r. But, unfortunately, he died when his aircraft was crushed near the border of India. In the evaluation of time, today’s Bangladesh Air Force operates its activities with pride.
