Contribution of Dr. Akter Hamid Khan
Akter Hamid Khan was a development workers and social scientist. He was born in India in 1914. Dr. Akter Hamid Khan expanded the participatory rural development related works in the various developing countries including Bangladesh around the world. He initiated a integrated project for rural development which is known as “Comilla Model” in 1959. As a result, he acquired many awards for his contributions at the rural development. At present the Bangladesh Rural Development Board works for the rural development utilizing his concept. Dr. Abdul Hamid Khan died in USA in 1999.
