The Ministry of Education offers a free ASSET training program

Asset Training Program has been announced. There is an opportunity for you to participate in an asset training program at no cost. So, you should take this opportunity to take the training and enrich yourself. The Ministry of Education offers a free ASSET training program. The Directorate of Technical Education under the Bangladesh Ministry of Education launched a project named Accelerating and Strengthening Skills for Economic Transformation (ASSET).

Under this project, the authority has been launching a short training course for the people of all districts in Bangladesh since July 2021. So, this is a great opportunity for unemployed people in Bangladesh. You can participate in this valuable training program without any cost; rather, the authority is giving monthly allowance and conveyance during the training period to the participants in this training program. Therefore, this is a great opportunity for you to increase your skills by participating in this training program. This special skill will help you build a better career in the future. There are some government job circulars; you can also apply for those government jobs.

Objectives of the Project (ASSET Training Program):

  1. To offer training programs related to the skills that have high demand both in domestic and international markets.
  2. To increase the skills of youth, laborers, women, and disabled people in the country.
  3. To reduce unemployment by offering training and increasing the skills of the people.
  4. To accelerate the economic growth and development of the country.

A Brief Description of the ASSET Training Program:

  1. Training Period: This short training program was launched in July. 2021 and will be continued until December 2026
  2. Course Duration: 3 months (360 hours)
  3. Course Subject: The authority offers high-demand skill-related training course as per the competency standard approved by National Skill Development Authority (NSDA) and Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB)
  4. Total Trainee: A total of 2 (two) lac people will be trained under this project.
  5. Monthly Allowance for General Trainee: The authority will give 1,500 taka in every months during the training period, subject to regular attendance
  6. Monthly Allowance for Women, Disabled, and Minorities: The authority will give 2,000 taka in every months during the training period, subject to regular attendance
  7. Conveyance: Besides the monthly allowance, the authority will also provide 80 taka per day, a maximum of 1,760 taka in a month, to each participant as a conveyance.
  8. Allowance Payment Procedure: The authority will provide all types of training allowance through  banking channel or mobile banking
  9. Attendance: The authority will ensure the attendance of participants by using a “facial recognition camera”  and biometrics.
  10. Rules: One trainee can participate in the higher training course of the same course but cannot participate in more than one training course.
  11. Criteria: All unemployed Bangladeshi people can participate in this training program at no cost.

About The Directorate of Technical Education

This directorate was established in 1960 for creating skilled manpower by expanding technical education. The main functions of this directorate are as follows:

  • Human resource management
  • Conduct development activities
  • To monitor academic activities
  • To create link with domestic and international institutes related to technical education.

There are 205 educational institutes under this directorate. This directorate works under the Bangladesh Ministry of Education. This directorate provide their education service in three levels:

  • Certificate level
  • Diploma level
  • Degree level

In certificate level, there are 149 government technical school and college and 1 vocational teachers training institute.
